Description
Imbros Gorge is the 2nd most popular gorge in Crete with a length of around 8-9km, it is similar to Samaria Gorge but in a smaller scale and it is ideal for visitors who love hiking in the nature and without being too tiring. It is part of the European path E4 most people need approximately 3 hours to get to the bottom.
The downwalk starts at an altitude of around 770m from the village of Imbros and ends at Komitades village and throughout the hike, one can observe a rich tapestry of plant and animal life. Imbros Gorge provides a less crowded but equally beautiful trek. Just wear shoes and get ready for an unforgettable experience in the nature!

Imbros – A Traditional Village in Chania
55km Southeast from Chania and at an altitude of 780m, ther is the village of Imbros, right in the center of a small plateau with the same name. The village has 55 residents who are mainly dealing with farming. Most of them go to the close villages of Vraskas, Vouvas and Komitades on the south coast in the winter and return back during spring.
